Privacy

This website

Every page here is a static file. There is no database behind it, no sign-in, and no form that submits anything anywhere.

• No cookies. Nothing is written to your browser's storage, so there is no cookie banner to dismiss.
• No analytics. No page-view counter, no tag manager, no session recording, and no advertising or tracking scripts of any kind.
• No third-party requests. The type is your system's own font, and every image, stylesheet and script is served from this domain. Your browser contacts no one else while reading these pages.

Like any website, this one is delivered by a hosting provider, which keeps short-lived technical logs of requests — the sort of record needed to serve pages and to keep the site up. Those logs are the provider's, are not used to build any profile of you, and are never combined with anything else on this page.

The suggestion pages

Suggest an app and Suggest a feature have form fields, which makes them look like an exception. They aren't. Nothing you type is submitted: a small script, served from this domain, gathers your answers into a message and either hands it to your own email app or copies it to your clipboard. Until you press send in your mail client, what you wrote has not left your browser — and if you close the tab instead, it goes nowhere at all.

Once a suggestion reaches me by email, I may summarise it on the ideas page so other people can see what has been asked for. Your name appears only if you filled in the "how should I credit you" field, and your email address is never published. Ask me to remove a suggestion and I will.

The apps

Each app has its own privacy policy, because each one handles different things. What they share is the approach: data you enter belongs on your device, not on a server of mine.

• Sock Studio — measurements, yarn, gauge, patterns and projects are all stored locally and never transmitted.

Where an app is sold through an app store, the store handles the purchase, the download, and any subscription or refund. That transaction is between you and the store under its own privacy policy; I receive only the aggregate sales figures the store reports, which do not identify you.

If you email me

When you write to support@almostanidea.dev I receive your address, your message, and anything you attach. I use it to answer you and to fix what you reported, and nothing else. It is not added to a mailing list — there isn't one — and it is not passed to anyone. Threads are kept only as long as they're useful for support.

Children

Nothing here collects personal information from anyone, and that includes children.

Your rights

Because this site collects nothing, there is generally nothing of yours for me to show you or delete. The exception is an email you have sent me: if you'd like that correspondence deleted, ask and I'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new "last updated" date above.
