About

Small apps for hobbies, routines, and the quiet parts of everyday life — made by one busy mum.

The short version. One busy mum, a few small apps, and no hurry. Nothing here needs an account, and nothing here collects your data.

What this is

Almost an Idea is where I put the small apps I make. Each one does a single thing properly and then gets out of the way — no dashboards to tend, no streaks to keep alive, no notifications inventing a reason for you to come back.

They're built the way you'd build something for yourself, because mostly that's how they start: a job that was fiddly enough to be worth a tool, and small enough that one person could make it well.

What I make

  • Hobbies — tools for the things we happily spend too much time doing.
  • Little systems — calculators, helpers, and satisfying bits of order.
  • Everyday life — useful things for home, routines, and small obsessions.

How they're built

A few things hold across everything here.

  • Your data stays yours. What you enter lives on your device. There's no account to make, nothing to sync, and nothing sent to a server of mine.
  • Quiet by default. No tracking, no advertising, no engagement mechanics.
  • Slowly. Things ship when they're right rather than when they're due. It's a smaller catalogue that way, and a better one.

Out now

  • Sock Studio — custom-fit hand-knit sock patterns, worked out from your own measurements, yarn and gauge.

The name

Most of this starts as almost an idea: the half-formed kind you have while doing something else, that turns out to be worth building only after you've sat with it a while. The good ones survive that wait. The name is a reminder to let them.
